Courting Candle Holder

In colonial times, a young man could visit with his young lady as long as the courting candle burned. The candle height could be adjusted by a small wooden plug that could be turned up or down the spring. The father of the lady in question could turn the candle higher if he liked the young man (or lower if he
didn't!).
